Volunteer Opportunities
GUI Volunteers support the daily needed tasks to upkeep Kampung Kampus, home of GUI, for more to come to connect with Nature, Self and Others.
To participate in GUI volunteer programmes is like walking into a School of Life using Kampung Kampus as a space to practise lifelong capacities and experience various means of sustainable living.
The basic tasks may involve farm work, wood work, kitchen work, housekeeping and logistic preparation. For regular volunteers, there could be tasks on reception, retail, Earth Oven baking, cooking, landscaping, programme facilitation, tour leading, event-support, skills-based functions, and etc.

GUI Balik Kampung Volunteer Programme (GBK)
GBK is held on Saturdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm. The flow of the programme starts with morning stretches, thereafter, hands on tasks, reflections in small groups, practice of gratitude in our closing session plus a Contribute-What-Feels-Right plant-based Kampung Lunch. Balik Kampung (translated to ‘going home’ in Malay) has been GUI’s flagship programme since the year 2008. We hope that by working on upkeeping the Kampung together, we get to practise the 5G and 6R in cultivating mindfulness in urban living.
