Touchwood’s social mission is to bring individuals of our community together to find and create useful ways in recycling used and unwanted materials. In the process, we hope to increase awareness on the importance of resourcefulness, especially in a small, resource-scarce country that we live in, and encourage greater social interaction. Here at Touchwood, we hold workshops that are specially designed for you and your loved ones to bond and spend quality time while picking up a few handy skills!
Started as volunteers, the current team of Carpenters pick up the woodworking skills along the way. We took on customized projects to challenge ourselves so that we can improve our skills in order to teach.
What we hope to pass on is not only woodworking skills but the”can-do” spirit that our forefathers had in establishing the foundation for Singapore. If you are looking for customised furniture, connect with us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
My Woody Friend workshop brought back memories of my late grandfather and I tinkering, building toys and repairing his chicken shed with his hand tools. This workshop was the closest thing to such an experience I can give to my son, Timmy. I’m sure Ah Gong would be beaming with pride if he can just see what we made!
Touchwood is a hidden gem in Singapore’s concrete jungle. Any parent who understands the importance of passing on values to their children such as a can-do attitude, problem-solving, tinkering, creative thinking and innovating will appreciate the unique opportunities that a place like Touchwood offers. It was lots of fun hanging out here.
